



On 20 May 1944, Lt. Blair Bradford, with gunners Ssgt Vern E. McIver and Ssgt Clarence Gray was assigned to a mission against Beauvais-Tolle Aerodrome in France. The flight was unable to locate the main target and dropped instead on the airfield at Montidier. Their aircraft was shot down by heavy flak. Lt. Bradford was killed in action. Both Ssgts McIver and Gray bailed out and were captured by German forces.
